A few people had mentioned Tulip Massage to me, some in more glowing terms than others, but I’d always put it off for another day. Last weekend, that day finally arrived.
Tulip Massage is located right next to the steps to Thong Lo BTS (Skytrain) station, on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 38. From the outside, it looks like a regular Thai massage shop, albeit a little run-down. But appearances can be misleading…
In the almost bare lobby, a girl behind a desk smiled, and pointed me to a menu. Foot massage, Thai massage and Oil massage were listed. I knew I was supposed to be looking for an oil massage, so checked those rates. I didn’t notice the others. One hour will set you back ฿400, 90 minutes is ฿600, and a full two hours ฿800. But that’s just for the house, as I’ll explain. I went for two hours, but in hindsight 90 minutes would probably be sufficient - depending on your own virility and stamina levels, of course.
A girl was summoned from downstairs - I knew from friends that I had the option to go down and pick one myself, although the girl on the desk didn’t tell me this. The girl who appeared wasn’t my usual type - I like them around the 30kg mark. Unfortunately, I was informed that my ‘laid-eeee’ from my previous visit had moved on to greener pastures. However, no problem, my new girl was just as good. From the first minute, this was a great experience. The line-up of ladies (about a dozen) was magnificent. I liked the fact that all the babes wore clothes they I assume they feel comfortable wearing. There didn’t appear to be a ‘house look’. My choice had a ’sporty’ look about her (wearing a type of tight lycra tracksuit bottoms and almost an exercise singlet).

I knew this was not correct - I set my stopwatch (!!??) and I was back at reception 1:40 minutes after first entering the room with Sporty. So does the time start when you make the choice? Do they always round the price up if you go over time?Who knows? I just paid up the extra amount (200 baht from memory).
After my visit, I would say that a splendid time is guaranteed for all at Tulip Massage.

Crappy rooms but it does not matter. The skills are there. The service is good. Not a soapie - no worries. Saves all that bath time for more important things. There is a massage and it can be good but you will get distracted along the way.
