Run by the same group that brings you Forte, Sherbet, Tango and the Piano. Pretty much the only real member club in the lower Sukhumvit area. A large club that is separated into multiple rooms. A bar area, lounge area with live music, the pool room and the disco room. With hostesses, PR girls and coyote girls. Typical setup with membership encouraged but not required. The Pent is known for the famous Pent pool parties and the often crazy disco room. Probably sees more Farang than other places due to the Sukhumvit location.

I think it helped that i was with a member of the club and he knew some of the girls already. If i lived in BKK i would certanly be a member.
The night i went there were less than the usual amount of ladies as one girl told me but it was still hot.

Drinks were pretty pricy as a non member, a couple of vodkas and a couple of beers ran to 1,500. Definitely worth the visit but I think this is really one for the locals as the bar bill would rack up very very fast without membership.

You occasionally see westerns acting like jack-asses in here due to their ignorance of proper Member Club decorum. That being said, the staff are generally a bit more forgiving as this place usually has just as many westerners as Thais.
Several of my friends have gotten lucky with the dancers here, either on the first night or after a few visits.

I have not been to any of the Pent parties yet but I hear they are fun as well. U can drop into these places and if so I would suggest buying a bottle for the night to make it easy. If you go often it makes sense to be a member.
Yes the girls will ask for drinks but I don’t find it that big of a deal. I buy the ones I like drinks and that usually translates into good conversation, phone numbers and the occasional hook up. I have never interacted with the hostess girls.
The service is generally good but sometimes I find later in the night that the disco room gets a little crazy and we are usually pouring our own drinks but not a huge deal.
Conveniently located in lower suk so one can combine the pent with other stops.

This is a fairly plush club, and pricey for Bangkok. There are 4 areas:
1. The main showroom, with a live band on stage. They often have special shows (”parties”). On one visit I saw a show with fairly elaborate costumes and choreography. It wasn’t Las Vegas, but for a local club it was pretty good. The girls were very attractive and the costumes were creative. (The show had a winter snow theme. One girl had antlers, another was dressed like a polar bear with white fur and a bear head atop her own. Another girl was painted in gold glitter from head to toe; quite an elaborate job).
2. An upstairs ‘mezzanine’ level that wraps around the showroom and the stage. Suitable if you come with a large group for a party, with comfortable soft furniture and a great view of the stage below.
3. An indoor pool area. Very nice and very quiet; it seemed a great place to get to know somebody with a long conversation over relaxed drinks. It was a decent sized pool that looked okay for a swim, but no one actually swims in it.
4. The Disco — a coyote bar with hip hop music. There were girls dancing on stage and tables. High energy — good music — beautiful girls. My kind of place!
I have read before about all the ‘beautiful’ and ’stunning’ girls in these types of members clubs. I went to Sapranos about 4 months ago and was very disappointed… everything was expensive, but the girls were no better (IMHO) than the girls I could see in any go go bar.
But the Pent feels different to me because it has the separate entertainment areas. Not every girl was a stunner, but there were large numbers of them. There are usually hundreds of men in the place, and the ratio of girls to men is typically about 1:1. The men are 90% Thai & Japanese… only a small number of Westerners.
But the energy in the place was great. The disco has girls dancing who are as hot as any girl I’ve seen.
It is a member club. Memberships are 20,000 baht for a 1-year membership, and you can choose from (a) 11 bottles of Chivas; or (b) 100 bottles of Heineken. Your membership ends in 12 months or when your booze are gone, whichever comes first.
I’m not a whiskey drinker… I normally drink beer, but thinking that (a) Whiskey sounded like a better value, and (b) it would be easier to share with the girls, I opted for the whiskey plan when I joined the club.
The girl who sold me my membership (Mamasan Joy) provides very good service. She always greets me whenever I visit the club, and she calls or sends me an SMS at least weekly to let me know about any special events. She’ll often call me if there is a slow night at the club just to encourage me to come down. There is no sales pressure for memberships here.
I’ve been skeptical about the idea of member clubs as I’ve read about them on the internet. Based on my one previous visit to Sapranos, I saw them as just a more expensive option. I can say that Pent seemed the same way while I was in the main room (reminded me of Sapranos) but the pool room and Disco changed my ideas entirely.
It is expensive compared to most other places I go in Bangkok, but the service is personalized, the surroundings pleasant and the entertainment quite good.
The only caveat I’d give is that the idea that your bottle of whiskey will supply the girls with their drinks seems to be ill-founded. The girls were hustling drinks, and I saw them cashing chits, so it’s a way to earn their keep. Be prepared to pay for some (high priced) drinks for the girls (tequila shots were 320 baht each, discounted 20% for member).
I spent all my time in my first few visits talking to dancers in the disco area. They earn a salary and get 130 baht for every drink you buy for them. Later I took a friend to the club and he wanted to spend time with a hostess in the front room. It turns out that to spend time with these girls you need to either buy them drinks, or you will be charged for one drink (288 baht for members) every half hour, whether she drinks it or not.
For the same rate (charged for one drink every half-hour) you can take the hostesses out of the bar for dinner, dancing or wherever they want to go with you.
You can book a girl in advance, however the “meter” starts running at 21.00 regardless of when you show up to pick up the girl. The “meter” stops running when you leave the bar, alone.
If you book a girl, in advance, and stay with her until closing time, Pent will charge you 5 hours worth of “Drinks” for the girl. 7 Drinks X 288 Baht = 2016 Baht. If ther girl leaves with you prior to closing time you will be charged 2016 Baht, which covers the time she will miss in the bar.
If you don’t book and and try pot luck later in the evening the girl’s “meter” starts when you show up and initially buy her a drink. However, if you want to take her off site to party elswhere then there is a 7 drink minimum charge.
Getting this info was like getting blood out of a stone because they want the girls to stay on the premises to keep the party atmosphere going and more importantly to boost the Pent’s revenue by squeezing some premium priced cocktails out of you.
Note that this info applies to the hostesses, but not (as far as I can tell) to the coyote dancers.
Personally, I really like the Pent Club. I’ve been a member there for about 4 months, and I go there about 3 times a month for an enjoyable evening. If you’re not on a budget then it’s Highly Recommended!
