The place has really upgraded. They put in another pool table by the front door, created a cool little lounge by the back bar with air hockey game adjacent, the large room used to play alternative music is now a huge smoky smoking room, put in more TVs which are now clear and sync’d with the live music, and generally cleaned up the place.

This is now a beautiful venue, one of the tops in Bangkok. HOWEVER, the crowd is HORRIBLE and make it a place I will probably not go back to unless I have to. It’s now dominated by old mongers. Average age pushing 60. The crowd is now 50% freelancer with a mix of Thai, Russian, and Ladyboy. About 10% of the crowd are couples and singles. The other 40% are guys looking to hook up p4p. Of those 40% the average age is mid to late 50’s.

The live music is always entertaining although I hear it can get old if you see them more than once. I remember a few members of the band. There is a hot thai girl and a thai guy who does a thai song every once in a while. They are okay. The wigga white lead singer is a bit of a tool and quite disturbing to look at and listen too.

Drinks are also very expensive here at around 200 baht a piece and the cover is I believe 300 but you get a free drink with that.

Overall, this is not a club so don’t expect a club environment. It’s a pick-up disco for old guys. We had brought some girls with us and it was a bit gross to see old guys gawking at them. Not my cup of tea but it does get packed every night and offers quite a bit to certain demographics.

The upside is the band is ok, but tend to be repeat same songs over and over. I did pull one of my best Freebirds here, but then she turned crazy.

Possibly fun to bring some girls with u but I would rather go to a real club for that since the point of coming to CM2 is to pull. The pulling is just not what it used to be given the huge ladyboy section and part of the club dedicated as an eastern european cultural center.

I figured lady’s night was the key but the amount of pullable hotties was low and the real hotties were brought in by others from other venues.

Definitely towards the high end of the scale as far as pricing goes, both in terms of the cost of the drinks as well as what the freelancers think they’re worth.

A substantial amount of eastern European girls frequent this place. And this in turn attracts their customer base, mostly Middle-Eastern and Indian guys who want a girl with alabaster white skin and blond hair. I’ve heard reports of outrageous qoutes from this portion of the freelancer crowd.

On the nights that I visit here, I usually spend between one drink to a few hours here. Most of the girls, if they weren’t lucky enough to pick up a customer early, can be found at one of the various after hours clubs later on in the night.

You usually buy your drinks at the door, though you can pay a cover charge, get a free drink or two, then pay as you go if you want. If you buy a bottle, mixers and ice are extra, so it can add up fairly quickly. When I take a girl, she almost always wants to ‘call a friend’. This will usually be a couple of female friends, or occasionally a sister + boyfriend who normally can’t afford CM2 so they all want to drink on the farang’s dime.

Typically this pisses off other punters, but it usually doesn’t bother me as long as the girls asks. In fact I often suggest it. I find that she has more fun, and I have more fun if she has some friends along.

Now, most people will go to CM2 to hunt and kill freelancers, which is why my review sort of sucks. I’ve never gone there to get girls, just to have fun with the ones I’ve already got.

The ferang crowd tends to be more truly international than a lot of the other places I spend time, with a lot of Arabs & Eastern Europeans, meaning that in the past the place was so thick with cigarette smoke you could almost swim in it. We’ll see if the smoking ban has any effect.

The girls are usually very available and aggressive here. They are typically dressed up a little more, drinking and dancing, so they seem very in the mood. I think CM2 represents a big investment for them in time and money, so I believe most of them plan to go home with a customer.

Like many dance clubs, nothing really happens before 10:30, then it’s packed at midnight and empty by 2:00.

Overall, I’d say its a decent dance club that is perhaps just a bit expensive for what’s actually delivered, but if you have any skill at all in picking up girls, you should walk out with a full tucker bag at the end of the night at CM2.
