I visit Dali on the odd occasions that I find myself in Soi 33, which seems to be around every 3-4 months.
I quite like the place, as with the rest of the Soi, things are a lot more relaxed as opposed to Cowboy and Nana, and yes, the girls on average are a little older but, in my opinion, that is not a bad thing sometimes.
I enjoy being able to go into a bar, talk, (Yes talk, you don’t have to compete with a PA system) and drink with a beautiful woman, who is wearing a tight, long evening dress. It’s such a contrast to Cowboy and Nana.
As with all bars, there are good nights and bad nights, but stick with it.
If your usual hunting ground is around the lower soi’s, give yourself a change of pace and visit Dali.
I’m WW’s friend, the one who dragged him to Dali that particular night. My only reason for going there was to see my friend, who was a former “gig” of mine. Dali Club is an easy going place to drink, talk to a nice looking woman, or to take a girl home if you both are interested. Unlike my friend the WW, I’m not much for GoGo’s or BJ bars, so I cannot make a valid comparison with the livelier spots in town. I am also not much for young skinny girls as they just don’t do it for me. Dali is more of a place for an older guy with a taste for mature women who can hold a bit of a conversation over a drink or two, and who just might screw your brains out given the chance. BTW, I could tell that WW was bored.
Went here with a friend recently who had a ‘favorite’ girl working in this place. I can’t see any other reason to enter. The girls were mostly past their ‘use by’ date, although they were all wrapped in attractive evening dresses.
I had been in once in mid-afternoon when the place was empty of customers and when I was told it was 40 baht per game to shoot pool I left immediately.
On my most recent visit, around 11 pm they had a stripper do a dance that was reasonably talented, but it didn’t hold a candle to the A-team at Rawhide which is just a 5 minute taxi ride away.
Expensive drinks, aging bar girls, no real entertainment — I just can’t figure out any reason to go here.
